I produced an end-of-semester showcase for students in my Multimedia Writing Workshop (English 289.22), which was held at the historic Normal Theater. The showcase included a selection of short digital videos in a variety of genres (video poems, music videos, documentaries, memoirs, motifs, etc.), and so the purpose of the 3-minute introduction I created was to contextualize the range of texts the viewing audience would see. This video includes original and found (student) footage and was composed using Audacity and Final Cut Pro. The entire 1-hour video with all the student examples is about 600 megs, so if you want a copy of that, please email me. The 3-minute introduction took 19 hours to produce and was seen by approximately 50 people the night of the free showing (which was advertised in the newspaper).
