My teaching, research, and service focus on multimodal composition practices in English studies. I teach and study how writers—whether they are students or scholars in the field—compose multimodal texts, which combine linguistic, visual, audio, spatial, and/or gestural modes of communication. My aim is to help authors choose the most appropriate genre(s), technologies, media, and modes they need in a particular writing situation. The result of this pedagogical and scholarly work is a body of research built on student-produced and peer-reviewed multimodal scholarship. If you have questions about my teaching, research, or service, or are interested in having me lead a workshop or seminar at your institution, please email me.
